Letter to the 10 Year Old Child I Was

Mama's Losin' It

Writing Prompt# 25. Write a letter to the 10 year old child you had been.

Dear 10 year old Tiana,

Please wear your glasses, you will really wish you would have when your eyes are soo bad that you won’t step outside in your glasses. Contacts only now and it really is a pain not being able to see the alarm clock when you wake up.

Enjoy playing softball more. You will really wish you had the time, skill, and energy that you have right now. When you don’t want to play anymore, keep playing anyhow. You’ll be glad you did.

Believe it or not – and knowing you it will be probably not – Mom really does know what she’s talking about. Listen to her more. It really will help. And also – just go ahead and talk to her more, her insight and understanding of what you are dealing with will make each step so much easier.

You really don’t have to try to solve everything on your own, your family and friends are there to help. It isn’t a sign of weakness to ask for help. Just suck it up and go ahead and ask.

This one is one of the most important – take the time to really enjoy yourself with Grandma & Grandpa. There will come a time in the very near future when you won’t be able to spend time with Grandpa. Those summers that you spend with them will be invaluable and irreplaceable.

Now, there are somethings that you are just gonna have to learn the hard way, because you are so stubborn and strong-willed. But those traits are also going to help you when things get really tough – because are going to get really tough. Just hang in there – it really is all worth in it the end.

❤ Your Older Self
