Love and Respect

This book is written to married couples and focuses directly on the love and respect that women and men as individuals need.  Through the use of many examples Dr. Eggerichs reinforces the principal of women need love and men need respect.   The book covers not only what each gender needs, but also a different perspective and tools to utilize to improve communication.

The 155 pages are a nice quick read.  The organization and quotes used throughout state things into a different manner to reinforce the content.  Although there was not necessarily anything new in this book, the content still provoked thought.   The book states “Conflict is inevitable; it is simply a part of living together”.  The reader is asked to thing beyond their normal reactions and to stop and think before responding.

From the cover “it’s as simple and as complicated as that” the reader realizes that the principals covered would be simple to understand.  It is in the living out the truth that makes this complicated.  The book is a nice simple gift book.   I would give it a 3 out of 5 – it was a nice little read, but didn’t really walk away with anything new.
